The pen lay in deep slumber, one that reflects my own love for sleep. I don't know if it was all the adulation that was sent my way a couple of years ago when I wrote a piece about "Thalathil Dineshan's " offspring who was making waves behind the camera, that led to an acute case of procrastination which progressed to borderline writer's block. I can't help but smirk at my self diagnosis of writer's block, but hell yeah, I do bask in the compliments I throw at myself about being the next big thing waiting to be thrown into literary limelight . Yes, I did hear that collective groan (smirking again).

Meanwhile in the world of Likes, Shares and Mentions (psssst...ahem, my FB handle's on the right in case you were wondering!!), Salman Khan let the views crashing in on a video about a brilliant 2 year old who's in serious contention to dethrone Wikipedia India and Times of India as the single source of truth about all things irrelevant from our Social Studies curriculum. Before the moral judges unleash a fatwa against me, I adore kids more than most of you. Just like how I'm meant to be the next big thing with the pen, kids are meant to be that bundle of unadulterated, ingenious and in your face surprises. Stuff that'd pale us adults in comparison to them. I have a nephew who was my go-to guy back in college when I ran out of reasons to convince myself why the girls I asked out would never reciprocate in kind. He did not bat an eyelid when he advised me to invest in a mirror!!! Or this little buddy of mine who let out a hissing sound while pointing to the posterior of his doll to let us know that he has just flatulated. I had hearty damn laugh about it and think of it to this day when I let out that seldom stinker. Things I'd only expect from those 3-footed adorable rascals.

I'll go searching for my old TTK World Atlas if I wanted all the world capitals at my disposal, or even wait until Tim Cook introduces the magical-most-amazing new baby sound to the list of Voices on Siri if it was innocence that's missing on TTK's publication. Let the little ones dream away - we have the pups, kittens and parakeets to domesticate. Don't deny the next Hrishikesh Mukherjee his existence by steering him into that NCERT textbook before he's legally bound to even look at it. Dream on little ones, it wasn't knowing where Jaipur was when he was a toddler that led to Chris Nolan exploring dreams within dreams on celluloid.

Oh and by the way, Sania Mirza ji - in case you wanted to know what the Indian tricolors are, fast forward to 0:19 on this clip
